Pelhams Bowls Club

Meet Annie Searle - Our Club Secretary

Annie first discovered Pelhams when she came along with a group of friends looking for an outdoor bowls club. It was the first club they visited and the friendly welcome made it an easy decision to stay. Three years later, Annie is now right at the heart of club life.
Although she has only been Club Secretary for six weeks, she describes the role as mad busy but great fun and says she absolutely loves doing it. Her energy, enthusiasm and organisation are already making a real difference behind the scenes.
Before bowls, Annie gave many years of service to the community, spending almost 30 years with Dorset Police. She worked as a Special Constable for 10 years and nearly 20 years in police support, receiving a commendation for helping to prevent a serious incident that could have threatened life and property.
She also brings plenty of humour to the club! One of her most memorable moments so far was on President's Day, when her inner football fan took over and she became the first person to be red carded on the rink for drinking and causing havoc!
This season Annie is hoping to improve her bowling and grow in confidence on the green, something we are sure she will achieve.
We are delighted to have Annie as part of the Pelhams family and look forward to a fantastic season ahead.
